Summer is winding down and the Jawbone is celebrating some exceptional
days. Any day with no wind and plenty of sun is a great day for golf.
The Wednesday night "Ladies of the Evening" concluded their league play
and crowned the new champs last Wednesday. It turned into a horse race
with Sharlett Dale, Betty Sedgwick and Debbie Painter keeping their lead
over Gayle Berg and Virginia Olson to claim the number one spot by one
point!
The "Spring Chicks" are still playing golf on Wednesday mornings and the
bridge gals are enjoying the club house. The morning ladies and bridge
gals join together for lunch at noon each week and have a wonderful time.
The Men's League is entering the play-off mode. Another race to see who
will claim the title. With two weeks left, it could be the "dark horse,"
or perhaps a repeat title winner, but we'll have to wait and see.
The 2011 CLUB Champions were crowned over the weekend. With two days of
golf and some absolutely perfect weather the champions were crowned.
However, the Senior women had to play an extra hole to determine it's
winner. With new challenger, Gayle Berg, and reigning Champion, Nancy
Stoltz, heading out for the 19th hole of golf, the battle was on. Gayle
Berg came into the clubhouse winning the Sr. Women's Crown. Roxanne Berg
retained her title for the 4th year as Women's Champ. While Gregg Wasson,
Men's Champ and Dennis Sacry, Sr. Men's Champ. repeated for another year.
The future of golf is in good hands with some up and coming Junior
players. Reed Wasson entered into day two with a slight lead and
maintained it on Sunday to be crowned the new Junior Champion. Shooting a
spectacular round with a two day combined score of 92!! Kudos to the
young men who competed both days.
The Jawbone lake is full, the creek is running, bluebirds, deer and
golfers are enjoying the course, which is in superb shape.
Come up and enjoy the final days of summer, we'd love to see you there. If
not for golf, just come and enjoy the view!!!
