Snow on the top of the Crazy Mountains this morning, but that doesn't mean that golf season is over. The course is in superb shape and you will certainly enjoy its beauty.
August has slipped away on us, but we have had a busy month. The 17th Annual Sorensen Tournament kicked off on August 7th with 9 teams trying to be the top dawgs. The
team of Jeff & Eric Sell, Tom Morrison and Spencer Snelling claimed the honors. The Sorensen's always put on a nice tournament with plenty of prizes and good food.
If you have been around this many years, you must be doing it right!!
The Tuesday Night Couples have faced some interesting challenges and if you missed these, you have missed a great time. Lot of laughs and some strange games of golf, but
it has been fun. Last Tuesday was "Football Kick-Off Night", where you support your team, dress accordingly and golfed "football style."
The "Spring Chicks" have had some cool mornings on Wednesday, but I don't think they have missed very many rounds because of weather. Our Bridge girls
enjoy the Clubhouse as well and noon finds them all sharing lunch at JCCC.
The "Ladies of the Evening" who golf on Wednesday evening have not been so fortunate with the weather and are making up the games they had to cancel
due to "rain." So one more week will find a champion team for them, but its a horse race at the top, with only a 4 point spread among the top 3
teams. Is there a dark horse team that will sneak in and claim the #1 spot next week?? Stay tuned for the final results!!
The Men's League is in their final round in a 9 hole Double Elimination Tourney. Central Lumber remains undefeated, but Kelly's Team is looking to upset
them tonight and force another game on Monday for the Championship. Another wait and see who will be Number 1!.
August 21-22 had the Annual Membership Tournament with a record 46 golfers vying for the top honors and bragging rights for a year. Two beautiful days of
golf and we crowned the new Champions on Sunday afternoon. Roxanne Berg retains her reign as the Women's Champion, while Virginia Olson captured the Senior Women's Title.
Gregg Wasson retained his number one spot for the Men's Champion and Rich Egebakken regained his Senior Men's Title after missing it last year. New 2010 Junior Champion
is Daniel Barnhart, who came from behind one day to shoot a sizzling 39 and one of his best scores ever to earn the two day title. New this year was the addition of a
Senior 9 Hole Tournament. PT Smith earned his spot at the top, after the two day challenge.
Election of officers was held on Sunday Morning. Robb Barnhart will be serving as President, Dean Thompson-Vice President, Ron & Esther Fischer-Sec./Treasurer.
New directors with a 3 year term are Patty Langston and Jeff Sell, while Travis Hiner will serve a 1 year term. Other directors currently serving on the board are
PT Smith, Harold Bornong and Nancy Stoltz. Todd Hasbrook is still the course Superintendent and has done a great job keeping it looking GREAT!!
September is creeping up on us fast and we have the Stanford Benefit Tournament on September 11th. This will benefit both the JCCC and their Beautification Program
in Stanford. Sign up now at the Clubhouse for this Fall Tournament.
